What You Need To Know About Mounting Solid Tires
If you find yourself reading this, you’re probably looking to install the Amerityre solid tire on the rim. Well, as they say on TV, “don’t try this at home”.
Installing a solid tire on a rim is very difficult if you do not have the right equipment. Special equipment is needed to properly install a solid wheelbarrow tire. If you do not have at least a ten-ton hydraulic press, take the tire to your local tire Amerityre store and they should have the equipment to install the new tire. Most tire stores have what is needed to do the job. If your tire store has the “cones” needed, the charge would be about fifteen dollars. Alternatively, if you have the ten-ton press and the cone needed to do the installation, you are ready to go.
If you have the correct equipment for installation and the ability to do so, it will be about the same to buy just the tire and install it yourself. The cost for the cone needed to install the tire coupled with the cost of having the tire installed, is more than the cost of purchasing the tire/wheel combination.
That said, if you do not have the correct equipment, the time and the ability to install it your new Amerityre, we suggest you that you purchase the tire/wheel combination. That will allow you to put it right out of the box.
Whether you buy a pre-mounted solid tire and wheel assembly or mount it yourself once it’s installed your wheelbarrow tire becomes maintenance-free. Amerityre has a tire for your application or can produce one for any wheelbarrow you own. The savings in repairs, and downtime for your crew will quickly pay for an Amerityre for your wheelbarrow.
